Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen.

Heat the back glass edge
2 minApply heat to the rear edges of the phone for two minutes using a heat gun to soften the adhesive.

Apply suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull up gently to create a small gap.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic prying pick into the gap between the frame and the rear glass panel.

Slice perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive tape.

Lift off back glass
1 minGently lift the back glass off the frame and place it safely aside on your work mat.

Remove bottom bracket screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the Phillips screws securing the lower speaker cover assembly.

Pry up loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the lower plastic bracket and lever it up to release the clips.

Remove faulty loudspeaker
1 minLift the loudspeaker assembly out of the lower chassis housing using tweezers.

Set new loudspeaker
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker into the lower recess and press down lightly to seat it.

Fasten speaker bracket screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips screws to firmly secure the loudspeaker cover in place.

Clean residual adhesive
3 minUse isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove old adhesive strips from the frame edges.

Reattach back glass
3 minApply new adhesive precut tape along the perimeter, then press the back cover firmly onto the body.
