Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom frame and pull out the SIM card tray.

Heat the Rear Glass
2 minUse a heat gun or heating pad on the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive edge.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull gently, and insert a plastic opening pick into the gap.

Remove Rear Cover
3 minSlide the opening pick around all four edges to slice the perimeter tape, then lift off the back panel.

Unscrew Motherboard Cover
3 minRemove the ten Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic upper motherboard shield.

Remove Upper Shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the plastic shield and pry it upward to unclip it from the frame.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minPry up the battery press connector directly from the motherboard using a nylon spudger.

Disconnect Interconnect Cables
2 minDisconnect the display flex cable and sub-board main ribbon cables from their motherboard sockets.

Disconnect Camera Connectors
2 minUnplug the front selfie camera and rear camera array press connectors from the board.

Unhook Antenna Cables
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently unclip the black and white coaxial antenna cables from the edge of the board.

Remove the Logic Board
3 minLift the logic board up from its recessed housing in the frame, taking care not to snag any lingering cables.

Inspect Under Magnification
5 minPlace the logic board under magnification to check for corrosion, cracked solder joints, or blown components.

Reflow Damaged Components
10 minApply liquid flux to the target area and use a hot air station to reflow or solder replacement SMT components.
