Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off to shut down the OnePlus Nord 2 5G completely.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom of the phone to eject the SIM tray.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply heat from a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply a suction cup
2 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull gently to create a slight gap.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the glass back and the frame.

Slice the back cover adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to slice through the adhesive completely.

Remove the rear glass cover
2 minCarefully lift the rear glass off the phone chassis and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly
3 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover to the phone frame.

Remove the loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker unit and lift it out of the frame.

Disconnect the main flex cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry up and disconnect the interconnect ribbon cable from the sub-board.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to gently snap off the small black antenna cable connector from the sub-board.

Remove the microphone daughterboard
3 minGently wedge a spudger beneath the daughterboard and lift out the old board containing the microphone.

Install the new microphone board
3 minPlace the replacement sub-board into the lower housing, pressing gently until it seats correctly.

Reconnect the antenna cable
2 minAlign and press the coaxial antenna cable connector directly onto the daughterboard terminal until it clicks.

Reconnect the main flex cable
2 minAlign the main interconnect flex cable over its connector and press firmly down to attach it.

Reinstall the loudspeaker module
3 minPlace the loudspeaker cover back into position and tighten all Phillips screws to secure it.

Reattach the rear glass cover
4 minApply new adhesive tape or B-7000 glue to the edges and press the back panel securely to the frame.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray back into the slot on the bottom frame until flush.
