Safety

Step-by-step

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge of the phone. Push inward firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply heat around the outer edges of the rear panel using a heat gun or hair dryer for approximately two minutes.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly near the bottom edge of the back cover to secure a grip.

Pry Back Cover
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic opening pick between the rear panel and frame.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all sides of the phone to disengage the internal clips and cut through remaining adhesive.

Lift Rear Panel
1 minGently tilt open the back cover from the right side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor cable is still connected.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
1 minUse a spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex cable connector straight up off the motherboard bracket.

Unscrew Loudspeaker Module
2 minRemove the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the lower loudspeaker speaker cover to the frame.

Remove Loudspeaker
1 minPry beneath the lip of the lower loudspeaker cover with a spudger and lift it off the chassis.

Disconnect Main Flex Cable
1 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to disconnect the main display/interconnect flex cable from the sub-board.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
1 minGrasp the antenna coaxial cable connector with tweezers and lift straight up to disconnect it from the sub-board.

Pry Up Sub-Board
2 minInsert a flat spudger beneath the edge of the sub-board, which houses the primary microphone, and gently lift it out.

Install New Sub-Board
1 minPosition the new sub-board with the replacement microphone into the lower frame housing and press it down gently.

Reconnect Antenna Cable
1 minAlign the antenna cable head over its socket on the new sub-board and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Reconnect Main Flex Cable
1 minPress the main interconnect flex cable connector onto the bottom sub-board until you feel a soft click.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Module
1 minAlign the loudspeaker cover over the sub-board assembly and press down gently to snap it flush into position.

Secure Loudspeaker Screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws on the loudspeaker housing.

Connect Fingerprint Sensor
1 minPress the fingerprint reader flex cable connector onto its motherboard socket until it seats completely.

Press Back Cover
2 minAlign the rear panel over the phone frame and press firmly around all edges until the plastic clips click together.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot until flush with the phone body.
