Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or iOpener along the rear edges for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick under the plastic back cover edge and slowly slide around the perimeter.

Unclip Fingerprint Cable
2 minSlightly lift the back cover and use tweezers to unlatch the fingerprint sensor flex connector.

Remove Rear Cover
1 minLift the rear cover completely away from the phone body and set it aside.

3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry up the main interconnect flex cable from the lower sub-board.

2 minGently unsnap the coaxial antenna cable from the sub-board connector using precision tweezers.

2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the sub-board containing the primary microphone and carefully pry it out.

Transfer Microphone Boot
2 minRemove the small rubber microphone gasket from the old board and place it onto the new microphone board.

Position New Sub-Board
2 minSet the new microphone sub-board into its recess on the bottom chassis and press gently to seat it.

Snap Antenna Cable
2 minAlign the coaxial antenna connector over its socket on the sub-board and press down until it snaps in place.

Reconnect Main Flex
1 minAlign and press down on the main interconnect flex connector until it firmly clicks into place.

Place Loudspeaker Cover
2 minPosition the loudspeaker housing back over the sub-board assembly and align the screw holes.

Secure Loudspeaker Screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker module.

Attach Rear Cover
3 minReconnect the fingerprint flex, align the back cover, and press firmly along the edges to seal the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into the slot on the side of the device until flush with the body.
