   Power down the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely off before beginning.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the card slot on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray, then remove it.

   Warm the rear cover adhesive

   Apply heat to the outer edges of the rear cover for 2-3 minutes using a heat gun set to low heat. This softens the glue holding the back cover to the frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Press a suction cup onto the lower back panel and pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic prying pick and slice around the edges to separate the back cover.

   Unplug the fingerprint sensor cable

   Gently lift the right side of the back cover like a book. Use a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor flex cable off the motherboard before removing the cover completely.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the plastic motherboard shield. Keep track of screw lengths and positions.

   Detach the motherboard plastic shield

   Insert a flat plastic spudger under the edge of the motherboard shield. Pry up gently to unclip and remove the shield from the frame.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket. This cuts power to the board to prevent short circuits.

   Unplug display and interconnect cables

   Disconnect the main display flex cable and the sub-board interconnect cable from the bottom section of the logic board. Use only plastic tools to prevent shorts.

    Disconnect coaxial antenna cables

    Use precision tweezers to pry up the antenna cables near the right edge of the board. Unclip them carefully to avoid damaging the small board connectors.

    Unplug rear camera flex connectors

    Disconnect the rear camera array connectors from the top of the logic board. Lift the camera module out of its housing using tweezers.

    Remove logic board retaining screws

    Locate and remove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the logic board to the aluminum chassis frame.

    Pry up the motherboard

    Gently insert a spudger under the bottom corner of the logic board. Pivot the board upward and lift it free from the phone body.

    Clean board contacts with isopropyl alcohol

    Inspect the logic board for corrosion or debris. Dip a soft-bristle brush or cotton swab into 99% isopropyl alcohol and clean affected areas thoroughly.

    Seat the logic board into the frame

    Align the logic board with the top frame housing and lower it into place. Press down gently around the edges until it sits flat inside the chassis.
