Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button on the right edge, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM ejection tool into the hole on the left edge and pull the tray completely out.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply heat evenly along the perimeter of the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull upward to create a seam.

Insert an opening pick
1 minSlide a thin opening pick into the seam under the back panel near the bottom edge.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
3 minGuide the opening pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the remaining glue.

Remove the back panel
1 minLift the rear cover straight off the frame and set it aside.

Unscrew the speaker assembly
2 minRemove the seven Phillips #000 screws holding the lower loudspeaker module in place.

Remove the loudspeaker module
1 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect the main flex cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the interconnect flex cable connector straight up off the daughterboard.

Unplug the antenna coaxial cable
1 minGently pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the daughterboard using tweezers.

Remove the daughterboard screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #000 screw securing the charging board to the frame.

Pry up the old charging board
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the daughterboard and carefully pry it out of its housing.

Install the new charging board
1 minPosition the new charging port board into the lower frame cavity and press it flat.

Secure the daughterboard screw
1 minFasten the single Phillips #000 screw to secure the new daughterboard to the frame.

Snap the antenna cable in place
1 minAlign the antenna cable connector over its socket and press down gently until it clicks.

Connect the main flex cable
1 minAlign the interconnect flex cable over the header on the charging board and press firmly to seat it.

Reposition the loudspeaker module
1 minPlace the loudspeaker assembly back over the daughterboard area and press down into place.

Tighten the loudspeaker screws
2 minReinstall the seven Phillips #000 screws to firmly secure the loudspeaker assembly.

Apply new rear adhesive
3 minClean off remaining old adhesive from the frame edges and apply fresh pre-cut adhesive tape.

2 minAlign the rear panel onto the chassis and press firmly along all edges to bond the adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the frame.
