   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before starting.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply heat to the outer edges of the rear panel using a heat gun or iOpener for approximately two minutes.

   Apply a suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back panel. Pull up gently to create a small gap along the bottom edge.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the rear panel and the phone frame.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the pick along the bottom edge to cut through the factory adhesive seal.

   Slice the side adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick along both the left and right sides to free the adhesive bonds.

   Remove the rear panel

   Lift the rear panel away from the frame entirely and clear off any loose adhesive strips.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws holding the top protective plastic bracket.

    Remove the upper cover

    Insert a plastic spudger under the edge of the upper shield and lift it off the motherboard.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector directly up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Pry up the flex cable overlapping the battery to prevent damaging it during battery removal.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol along the upper and lower edges of the battery pouch.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a wide plastic opening card beneath the battery and pry upward slowly to break the glue seal.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the battery out of the chassis well and place it on an anti-static surface.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel and position fresh double-sided battery tape into the empty frame recess.

    Install the new battery

    Place the replacement battery into the frame recess and press down firmly to set the adhesive.

    Reconnect the flex cables

    Align and press down on the display interconnect cable and battery connector until they snap into place.

    Reinstall the upper cover

    Position the plastic motherboard shield over the top board, aligning all clip points.

    Secure the shield screws

    Reinsert and tighten the 11 Phillips #00 screws to hold the motherboard cover in place.

    Reseal the rear panel

    Apply a new pre-cut adhesive gasket around the perimeter and firmly press the rear cover onto the chassis.
