Step-by-step

Power off the phone

Eject the SIM card tray

Heat the rear cover edges
2 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup to the rear cover
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back plastic cover and pull up gently to create a gap.

Slice the back cover adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable
2 minPivot the rear cover open carefully and use tweezers to detach the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the motherboard.

Remove upper motherboard screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to unfasten all screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket.

Detach the upper motherboard cover

3 minScrape away leftover adhesive and glass fragments from the chassis using tweezers and isopropyl alcohol.

Apply new frame adhesive
3 minLine the clean metal frame perimeter with new pre-cut adhesive strips.

2 minThread the new display flex cable through the frame slot and press the screen panel firmly into place.
