Step-by-step

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the Moto G84. Press firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

Heat the Rear Cover
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for 2-3 minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach a Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the back cover, near the USB-C port, and pull upward to create a small seam.

1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam formed between the back panel and the plastic frame.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the underlying adhesive strips.

1 minLift the rear panel completely off the chassis and set it aside on a clean surface.

3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 7 screws securing the lower loudspeaker cover to the frame.

Pry the Speaker Cover
2 minInsert a spudger into the designated pry notch at the corner of the loudspeaker housing and gently lift it up.

Remove the Loudspeaker Module
1 minLift the entire lower speaker module out of the phone body.

Clean Speaker Contact Pads
2 minUse fine tweezers or isopropyl alcohol to ensure the golden spring contact pins on the sub-board are clean and free of debris.

Position the New Loudspeaker
1 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker module into the lower cavity of the phone frame.

Snap Loudspeaker Into Place
1 minGently press down along the edges of the speaker module until it clips securely into position.
