   Power off the Moto G84

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

   Heat the back panel

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the edges of the back cover for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the plastic panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel. Pull upward gently to create a small gap between the back cover and the frame.

   Insert a plastic prying tool

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Be careful not to insert it too deeply to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Gently slide the plastic pick around all four edges of the back panel to cut through the peripheral adhesive. Apply additional mild heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear cover straight off the frame. Set it aside in a clean workspace.

   Unscrew the lower loudspeaker housing

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower plastic loudspeaker cover over the sub-board.

   Remove the loudspeaker assembly

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and carefully lift it out of the chassis.

    Disconnect the main flex cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the main interconnect flex cable straight up from its socket on the sub-board.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Gently pry up the antenna cable connector from the sub-board using precision tweezers. Do not pull on the wire itself.

    Remove the old sub-board

    Insert a plastic spudger under the microphone sub-board and pry it up from the adhesive holding it to the frame. Lift the sub-board out.

    Position the new microphone sub-board

    Align the replacement sub-board with the bottom compartment of the frame. Press it down gently until it sits flush.

    Reconnect the antenna coaxial cable

    Align the antenna cable head over its connector on the sub-board and press down with a spudger until it snaps into place.

    Attach the main interconnect flex cable

    Align the flex cable press connector over the sub-board socket and gently press down until you hear a soft click.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker cover

    Set the loudspeaker housing back into place over the sub-board and press it flat against the frame.

    Secure the loudspeaker screws

    Thread and tighten the seven Phillips #000 screws to hold the loudspeaker and sub-board assembly in place.

    Apply new rear cover adhesive

    Clean off old adhesive residues with isopropyl alcohol, then apply pre-cut adhesive strips or a thin bead of B-7000 around the frame border.

    Reattach the rear panel

    Align the rear panel with the phone frame and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive properly.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
