Power Off the Phone
2 minPress and hold the power button on the right edge, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the device to pop out the SIM tray. Pull the tray completely out and set it aside.

Heat the Back Cover Edges
3 minApply heat from a heat gun or hair dryer along all four edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the underlying perimeter adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back cover near the USB-C port. Press down firmly to create a tight seal.

Insert Plastic Pick
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap between the back cover and frame. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick carefully around all sides of the phone to separate the back cover adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

Remove the Back Cover
1 minLift the rear back cover off the chassis once all adhesive has been severed. Store the back cover in a safe location.

Unscrew the Midframe
5 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 16 screws securing the midframe and motherboard cover assembly.

Unclip and Remove Midframe
3 minInsert the flat end of a spudger around the inner edges of the plastic midframe to release its retaining clips. Lift the midframe away from the device.

Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger. This cuts power to the device completely.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minUse a spudger to detach the display flex cable connector positioned above the battery. Gently bend it back to clear path for battery removal.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minDispense a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the side edges of the battery well. Allow 1 to 2 minutes for the adhesive to break down.

Pry Out the Battery
4 minInsert a flat plastic card or wide spudger underneath the battery from the side. Slowly lever the battery upward until it fully detaches from the frame.

Clean the Battery Bay
2 minWipe away residual glue inside the battery housing using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

2 minPeel the backing off new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery compartment. Press down firmly to secure the tape to the chassis.
