   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Press firmly to pop out the tray and set it aside.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply heat to the back cover edges using a heat gun or hairdryer for about two minutes. This softens the perimeter adhesive holding the back panel.

   Attach the suction handle

   Press a suction handle firmly onto the lower portion of the rear cover. Pull up gently on the handle to create a tiny gap along the bottom seam.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around all four edges to cut through the adhesive.

   Open the back cover

   Gently pivot the rear cover open from the left edge like a book cover. Do not pull it away fully yet, as the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still connected.

   Unscrew the motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic upper motherboard shield.

   Remove the motherboard shield

   Pry up the edges of the upper plastic cover using a spudger. Lift the shield away from the phone to expose the board.

   Disconnect the battery

   Use the edge of a spudger to pop the battery flex connector straight up from its socket. Disconnecting the battery prevents accidental short circuits.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex

   Unplug the fingerprint sensor flex connector from the motherboard using a spudger. Set the back cover aside completely.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker module

    Remove the Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device frame.

    Remove the loudspeaker module

    Insert a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker housing and pry upward. Lift the loudspeaker module out of the chassis.

    Disconnect the main flex cable

    Use a spudger to disconnect the main interconnect flex cable from the lower charging sub-board. Fold the flex cable slightly back out of your way.

    Disconnect the antenna cable

    Grasp the metal head of the coaxial antenna cable with tweezers near the sub-board. Pry it straight up to detach it from its connector.

    Remove the old sub-board

    Insert the flat tip of a spudger under the charging port sub-board. Lever the board up from the phone frame and remove it.

    Position the new sub-board

    Align the replacement charging port sub-board with the bottom chassis recess. Press it down flat until it sits firmly in place.

    Reconnect the antenna cable

    Align the coaxial antenna cable head over its socket on the new sub-board. Gently press down with tweezers until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the main flex cable

    Align the interconnect flex connector over the new sub-board socket and press down until it clicks securely.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker module

    Lower the loudspeaker housing back over the charging board. Secure it using the Phillips #00 screws you removed earlier.

    Reconnect the battery and fingerprint flex

    Snap the fingerprint sensor cable and battery flex connector back onto their motherboard sockets. Reinstall the top motherboard shield and its screws.

    Reseal and complete assembly

    Apply new adhesive along the inner perimeter of the phone frame. Press the rear cover firmly back onto the chassis and reinsert the SIM tray.
