- 2
Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small pinhole next to the SIM tray on the left side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

Separate the rear cover seam
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the thin seam between the rear cover and the display assembly, starting near the SIM card slot.

Unclip the back panel edges
3 minSlide the plastic pick along the perimeter of the phone to unlatch all internal plastic clips. Continue around the bottom and sides until the cover loosens.
- 5
Lift the rear cover slightly
1 minGently hinge open the rear panel from the right side like a book. Do not remove it completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor cable is still connected.
- 6
Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry up the fingerprint sensor press connector from the motherboard. Set the back panel aside.
- 7
Remove lower speaker screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the plastic loudspeaker housing at the bottom of the phone.
- 8
Pry out the speaker housing
2 minInsert a spudger under the notch of the lower speaker assembly. Pry up gently to detach the loudspeaker module from the frame.
- 9
Clean the speaker recess
2 minInspect the housing cavity for dust or adhesive residue. Wipe the contact points clean using a dry microfiber cloth.
- 10
Align the new loudspeaker
2 minPlace the replacement loudspeaker module into the lower frame cavity. Ensure the metal spring contacts align properly with the lower board.
- 11
Secure the loudspeaker module
3 minReinstall the seven Phillips screws into the speaker assembly. Turn each screw until snug without overtightening.
- 12
Reconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minAlign the fingerprint sensor cable press connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.
- 13
Snap the back panel on
2 minAlign the rear cover over the body of the phone and press along all edges. Work around the perimeter until every plastic clip snaps securely shut.
