1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely shut down before starting.
- 2
Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop out the SIM card tray and remove it.
- 3
Heat Rear Cover
2 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun set to low for about two minutes. Softening the perimeter adhesive makes removal easier.
- 4
Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower section of the rear panel. Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a tiny gap along the bottom edge.
- 5
Insert Opening Pick
3 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge. Slide the pick back and forth to sever the adhesive bond.
- 6
Slice Perimeter Adhesive
3 minCarefully guide the pick along the left, right, and top edges. Avoid inserting the pick deeper than 3 mm to prevent damaging the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable.
- 7
Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minSlightly lift the right edge of the rear cover like a book. Use a spudger to snap the fingerprint sensor connector off the motherboard.
- 8
Remove Rear Cover
1 minLift the rear cover away from the phone body completely and set it aside.
- 9
Unscrew Speaker Assembly
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 7 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker housing.
- 10
Pry Up Speaker Module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the top lip of the lower speaker assembly. Gently lever the module upward to free it from the plastic clips.
- 11
Remove Damaged Speaker
1 minLift the old loudspeaker assembly straight up out of the phone chassis.
- 12
Position New Speaker
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker assembly over the bottom cavity of the phone frame. Press down until it snaps flush into place.
- 13
Fasten Speaker Screws
3 minReinstall the 7 Phillips #00 screws to secure the speaker housing to the phone frame.
- 14
Reconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minHold the back cover close to the frame and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector directly onto the socket.
- 15
Seal Rear Cover
3 minApply new pre-cut adhesive tape along the phone frame perimeter. Press the rear cover firmly back onto the chassis for 30 seconds to complete the seal.
