Step-by-step

Power down the device

Apply suction cup

2 minCarefully slide a flat spudger or tweezers under the volume button flex assembly to detach its adhesive from the frame.

Extract physical volume button keys
2 minPush the volume rocker buttons inward from the outside of the frame to free them from their slots.

Insert replacement volume button keys
2 minInsert the new physical volume button key assembly into the slot on the side frame until fully seated.

Mount replacement volume flex cable
2 minPeel off the protective film from the new flex cable adhesive and press it into position along the frame wall.

Plug in volume button flex
1 minAlign the volume button flex connector over the socket on the motherboard and press down until it snaps in.

Reconnect battery cable
1 minAlign the battery connector over its motherboard terminal and gently press down to reconnect power.

Fasten motherboard cover
3 minPlace the plastic motherboard cover back in position and reinstall all Phillips #000 screws.

Seal rear cover
3 minReconnect the fingerprint cable, align the back cover with fresh adhesive, and press firmly around the edges to seal.
