Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Shut Down on the screen. Ensure the device is fully powered off before proceeding.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

Heat the rear cover edges
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the perimeter of the back cover for 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the cover.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly near the bottom edge of the rear panel. Pull gently on the handle to create a small gap between the cover and frame.

Insert a plastic prying tool
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Take care not to insert the tool deeper than 3 millimeters.

Slice through the rear adhesive
3 minSlide the prying tool around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the adhesive seal.

Open the back cover carefully
2 minGently swing the back cover open toward the right side. Do not lift it off completely yet, as the fingerprint reader ribbon cable is still attached.

Unscrew the fingerprint sensor bracket

2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker assembly. Carefully pop the speaker module out of the lower chassis.

Clean old frame adhesive
3 minApply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to a cloth and wipe away remaining adhesive residue along the frame perimeter.

Insert the new loudspeaker module
2 minAlign the replacement speaker assembly into the lower cavity of the frame and press down until it sits flush.

Fasten the lower speaker screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips #000 screws to hold the loudspeaker assembly firmly in place.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable
