Step-by-step

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM card tray. Press firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

Heat Back Cover
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the rear cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for about two minutes. This softens the internal adhesive seal.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear cover near the USB port. Pull upward gently to create a small separation gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minInsert the tip of a plastic prying tool into the small gap created by the suction cup. Do not push the tool in further than a few millimeters.

Slice Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick along the bottom and side perimeter of the phone to cut through the adhesive. Work slowly around all four edges.

Lift Back Cover
2 minGently lift the right edge of the back cover open like a book. Be careful not to strain the attached fingerprint sensor cable.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor cable connector straight up off the motherboard. Remove the back cover completely.

Remove Speaker Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing. Store these screws safely together.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the chassis. This exposes the charging port sub-board.

Disconnect Main Flex Cable
1 minPry the main interconnect flex cable connector straight up from its socket on the charging daughterboard using a spudger.

Disconnect Coaxial Antenna
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently unclip the white coaxial antenna cable from the corner of the charging port board.

Remove Sub-Board Screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips screw holding the charging daughterboard to the bottom of the phone frame.

Pry Up Old Daughterboard
2 minWedge a flat plastic spudger under the charging sub-board and lift it out from the phone body. Discard or recycle the old part.

Position New Daughterboard
2 minPlace the replacement charging port sub-board into the lower housing slot. Press down lightly to make sure it sits flat.

Fasten Sub-Board Screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips screw to secure the new charging sub-board firmly to the frame.

Connect Coaxial Antenna
2 minAlign the white antenna cable head over its surface mount on the sub-board. Press down gently until it snaps into place.

Connect Main Flex Cable
2 minAlign the interconnect flex cable connector over the matching socket on the sub-board. Press firmly down until you hear a click.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Module
2 minLower the loudspeaker assembly back into position over the daughterboard and press down around the edges to seat it properly.

3 minTighten the seven Phillips #000 screws back into the loudspeaker housing to lock it in place.

Reconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minHold the back cover close to the frame and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector onto its motherboard socket.

Apply Back Cover Adhesive
3 minLay fresh pre-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter edges of the rear housing frame.

Seal Back Cover
2 minAlign the rear cover over the phone frame and press down firmly around all edges for 30 seconds to bond the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
