   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left edge. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then slide it away.

   Heat the rear cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear cover. Pull upward gently to create a slight gap between the plastic cover and frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup along the bottom edge.

   Slice the side adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick carefully up the left and right sides of the phone to separate the back panel adhesive.

   Slice the top adhesive

   Guide the pick across the top edge of the device to completely free the perimeter of the back cover.

   Unclip the back cover

   Gently lift the rear panel up from the frame. Do not remove it completely, as the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still attached.

   Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable

   Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex cable connector straight off the motherboard socket.

    Unscrew the motherboard shield

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket.

    Remove the motherboard shield

    Lift the motherboard shield up and off the frame using tweezers or your fingers.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a spudger.

    Soak the battery adhesive

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the side edges of the battery to weaken the glue.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a flat plastic spudger under the bottom corner of the battery and slowly pry upward to release it from the chassis.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the battery out of the frame entirely and set it aside for proper recycling.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Lay down fresh double-sided battery adhesive strips inside the battery compartment on the phone frame.

    Install the replacement battery

    Place the new battery into the housing and press down evenly to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align and press the battery flex connector directly down onto the motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Reinstall the motherboard shield

    Place the plastic motherboard cover back onto the frame and secure it using the 10 Phillips #00 screws.

    Reconnect the fingerprint reader cable

    Hold the rear panel close to the phone and press the fingerprint sensor flex connector back onto the motherboard.

    Seal the back cover

    Apply new rear panel adhesive tape around the perimeter of the housing, then firmly press the back cover into place.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until it sits flush.
