Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off to completely turn off the Motorola Moto G73.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge of the phone and push inward to eject the tray.

Heat Rear Cover
3 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back cover for 2 minutes using a heat gun or hot air station to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Handle
1 minPlace a suction handle near the bottom edge of the rear panel and gently pull upward to create a slight seam.

Insert Opening Pick

3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive tape.

2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

Pry Up Loudspeaker
2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the notch on the speaker housing and gently pry it up to remove it.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minPry the bottom main interconnect flex cable straight up off its connector on the sub-board.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
1 minUse fine tweezers to carefully pry up the white coaxial antenna cable connector from the sub-board.

Remove Microphone Sub-Board
2 minInsert a flat opening tool under the sub-board housing the primary microphone and lift it out of the phone frame.

Position New Sub-Board
2 minPlace the replacement daughterboard with the new microphone into the bottom recess of the frame.

Reconnect Connectors
2 minPress the coaxial antenna connector and main interconnect flex cable back onto the sub-board until they click.

Reinstall Speaker Assembly
2 minLower the loudspeaker cover into place and secure it with the Phillips screws removed earlier.

Reattach Back Cover
3 minApply pre-cut adhesive strips along the frame perimeter and press the rear panel firmly back onto the phone.
