Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button on your Moto G71S, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject the SIM Card Tray

Unscrew Upper Midframe Bracket
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield.

Remove Motherboard Shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the motherboard shield and pry upward gently to release its plastic retaining clips.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat edge of a spudger to pry the battery flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard socket.

Disconnect Volume Button Flex Cable
2 minLocate the volume button flex connector on the motherboard and use a plastic spudger to disconnect it.

Peel Up Volume Button Flex Cable
3 minUse fine tweezers to carefully peel the thin volume button flex cable array off the inside wall of the chassis.

Remove Physical Volume Buttons
2 minUse tweezers to push the physical volume button actuator keys inward or unclip their metal retaining bracket to remove them from the side frame.

Install New Volume Button Flex
3 minAlign the replacement volume flex cable assembly into the recessed side channel and press it firmly against the internal frame.

Reconnect Cable and Battery
2 minPress the volume button flex connector into its motherboard socket, then snap the battery connector back into place.

Reinstall Motherboard Shield
3 minPosition the plastic upper shield over the motherboard and reinsert the Phillips screws until snug.

Reseal the Back Cover
4 minApply new perimeter adhesive tape along the frame edges, align the back cover, and press firmly around all edges to secure it.
