   Power down the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered off before starting.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear panel. Gently pull upward to create a small gap between the cover and the frame.

   Insert a prying tool

   Insert the thin edge of a plastic prying pick into the gap created by the suction cup.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the glue holding it in place.

   Remove the back cover

   Carefully lift the rear cover off the phone frame and set it aside on your workspace.

   Unscrew the lower speaker housing

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly.

   Pry up the speaker module

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the speaker housing and gently lift it out of the phone.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Locate the battery flex connector on the mainboard and pop it off using a plastic spudger to prevent electrical shorts.

    Disconnect the main ribbon cable

    Use a spudger to gently lever up the lower end of the main interconnect ribbon cable from the charging port sub-board.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Use fine tweezers to carefully unclip the thin coaxial antenna cable connector from the daughterboard.

    Remove the daughterboard retaining screw

    Remove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the charging port sub-board to the frame.

    Remove the old charging sub-board

    Wedge a plastic spudger under the sub-board and lift it free from its recess in the chassis.

    Position the new charging sub-board

    Align the replacement charging port sub-board into the lower housing recess until it sits completely flush.

    Secure the sub-board screw

    Reinsert and tighten the single Phillips #000 screw that secures the daughterboard to the frame.

    Reconnect the antenna and main flex cables

    Snap the coaxial antenna cable back onto its terminal, then press the main interconnect ribbon connector firmly onto the board.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Press the battery flex connector firmly back into its socket on the mainboard.

    Reinstall the speaker housing

    Place the loudspeaker module back over the charging sub-board and press down gently until it snaps into position.

    Fasten the speaker screws

    Reinstall and tighten all Phillips #000 screws securing the speaker assembly to the frame.

    Apply new adhesive

    Clean remaining old glue from the frame using isopropyl alcohol, then apply new back cover adhesive tape along the perimeter.

    Seal the back cover

    Align the back cover with the phone body and press down firmly along all edges to ensure a tight seal.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush with the frame.
