   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before starting.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the back cover edges

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the rear edges for two minutes. This softens the internal adhesive holding the back panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back panel. Pull up gently on the ring to create a small gap near the edge.

   Insert a plastic opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Slowly slice through the adhesive along the bottom edge.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around the remaining edges of the phone to free the back cover. Be careful not to insert the pick too deep near internal flex cables.

   Lift off the back cover

   Gently lift the rear cover off the phone frame. Set it aside in a safe, dust-free area.

   Unscrew the top midframe shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield.

   Remove the upper plastic shield

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pry up and lift off the motherboard bracket. Store the bracket and screws together.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Locate the battery flex connector on the motherboard. Pry it straight up with a plastic spudger to cut power to the device.

    Disconnect the interconnect cable

    Pry up the press connector for the lower interconnect ribbon cable running over the battery. Fold the ribbon back out of the way.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around battery

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery. Wait two minutes for the glue to loosen.

    Pry up the old battery

    Insert a wide plastic spudger beneath the battery from the side. Slowly lever up to free it from the remaining frame adhesive without bending it.

    Clean old adhesive from frame

    Use tweezers or alcohol wipes to scrape off leftover glue residue from the battery well. Ensure the recessed tray is smooth and clean.

    Apply new adhesive strips

    Peel the protective backing from new battery adhesive strips and stick them into the battery compartment. Press down firmly to stick.

    Install the new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the frame well and press it down onto the fresh adhesive. Ensure the flex cable reaches the motherboard port.

    Reconnect ribbon cables

    Press the interconnect flex cable and battery connector firmly back into their motherboard sockets until they snap into place.

    Reattach upper shield and screws

    Place the upper motherboard shield back into position. Reinstall and tighten all Phillips screws securely.

    Reseal and attach back cover

    Apply pre-cut back cover adhesive along the frame edges. Align the rear glass, press firmly around all borders, and clamp lightly for ten minutes.
