   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select power off to completely turn off your Moto G71 5G.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left side of the device to pop out the SIM card tray.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting for two minutes around the edges of the rear cover to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and gently pull upward to create a small gap.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the plastic rear panel carefully away from the frame and place it aside.

   Unscrew the midframe cover

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws holding down the plastic midframe and housing covers.

   Pry off the midframe

   Insert a plastic spudger around the edges of the midframe to release the retaining clips and lift it off.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to snap the battery connector straight up from the motherboard.

    Disconnect the display cable

    Unplug the display flex cable connector located at the lower region of the motherboard.

    Heat the screen panel

    Apply heat evenly across the front display for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the display panel adhesive.

    Slice the front screen adhesive

    Insert a thin opening pick between the display glass and frame, slicing through the perimeter glue.

    Separate screen from frame

    Lift the screen away from the body, carefully threading the flex cable through the slot in the frame.

    Clean frame perimeter

    Remove old adhesive residues and glass shards from the frame using tweezers and isopropyl alcohol.

    Dry test the new screen

    Thread the new screen cable, plug it and the battery cable in, then turn on the phone to test touch response.

    Disconnect power and screen

    Turn off the device, then safely disconnect the battery and new display connectors once testing succeeds.

    Apply display adhesive

    Run a thin line of B-7000 frame adhesive or pre-cut tape along the inner display ledge of the housing.

    Seat the new screen

    Feed the display cable through the chassis cutout and press the screen evenly into the frame.

    Reconnect internal cables

    Press the display flex cable and battery connector firmly back into their respective motherboard sockets.

    Reinstall the midframe

    Align the midframe over the body, press down to snap the clips into place, and secure all Phillips screws.

    Seal the back cover

    Apply new adhesive tape around the perimeter of the frame and press the rear cover firmly down.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM tray back into the slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
