   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to eject the SIM card tray and set it aside.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer to the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the back cover. Pull upward firmly to create a small gap between the cover and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Be careful not to insert it deeper than 3 millimeters.

   Slice the cover adhesive

   Slide the opening pick along the bottom, sides, and top edges of the phone to cut through the rear cover adhesive.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear cover away from the phone body. Set the back cover aside in a clean workspace.

   Unscrew the midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the plastic midframe to the chassis.

   Unclip the midframe

   Insert a spudger between the midframe and the inner display bezel to disengage the plastic retention clips around the perimeter.

    Remove the midframe

    Lift the plastic midframe up and off the phone chassis to expose the motherboard and battery.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.

    Disconnect the interconnect cable

    Pry up the main display interconnect flex cable connector near the bottom of the motherboard to prevent accidental damage.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery to weaken the glue.

    Locate the battery pull tab

    Find the clear plastic pull tab labeled on the edge of the battery casing.

    Peel the pull tab

    Unfold the adhesive release tab from the top surface of the battery.

    Extract the battery

    Pull the clear adhesive tab upward with steady, firm pressure until the battery releases from the recessed frame.

    Clean the battery well

    Scrape away remaining adhesive residue from the metal frame using a plastic tool and isopropyl alcohol.

    Install new adhesive strips

    Peel the backing from new double-sided battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery frame.

    Insert the new battery

    Align the replacement battery in the frame and press it down firmly to secure it to the adhesive strips.

    Reconnect the interconnect cable

    Align and press the main interconnect flex cable back onto its motherboard socket until it clicks into place.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Attach the new battery's press connector to the motherboard socket firmly.

    Reattach the midframe

    Lower the plastic midframe over the chassis and press along the edges until all clips snap closed.

    Secure the midframe screws

    Reinstall all Phillips #00 screws into the midframe, tightening them until snug without overtightening.

    Apply rear cover adhesive

    Place pre-cut adhesive tape along the perimeter rim of the phone housing.

    Reseal the rear cover

    Align the rear cover with the chassis and press firmly along all edges to seal the cover.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the device until flush.
