Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Heat Rear Glass
2 minApply heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to the edges of the back glass for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass back cover and pull upward gently to create a tiny gap.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass back cover and the frame.

Slice Edge Adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the device to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

Hinge Open Rear Glass
2 minGently swing open the back cover toward the left side, taking care not to strain the delicate fingerprint sensor cable.

Unscrew Cable Shield
2 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the metal bracket over the fingerprint reader connector.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex cable straight up off its socket.

Remove Speaker Screws
3 minRemove the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing to the phone frame.

Remove Speaker Housing
2 minInsert a plastic pry tool under the loudspeaker enclosure and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minPry up the lower connector of the main interconnect flex cable from the microphone daughterboard.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
1 minUse fine tweezers to carefully unclip the white coaxial antenna cable from the terminal on the daughterboard.

Remove Microphone Sub-Board
2 minUse a spudger to lift the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone out from its frame recess.

Transfer Rubber Gasket
2 minPeel the small rubber acoustic microphone boot off the old board and place it onto the new microphone port.

Install New Sub-Board
2 minAlign the replacement daughterboard into the lower cavity of the frame and press it gently into place.
