Step-by-step

Power Down the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Heat the Rear Panel
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to heat the outer edges of the rear panel for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass near the charging port.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
5 minPull up on the suction cup to create a gap, then insert a plastic prying tool and slide it around the perimeter to cut the adhesive.

Remove the Rear Panel
2 minGently lift the rear glass panel away from the chassis and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew Upper Shield
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic upper motherboard shield.

Lift Off Upper Shield
2 minInsert the point of a spudger underneath the edge of the upper plastic shield and lift it off the frame.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Disconnect Display and Interconnect Cables
2 minUse a spudger to gently pop the main display flex cable and lower interconnect cable off the logic board.

Disconnect Coaxial Antenna
2 minUse tweezers to carefully pry the head of the antenna cable up from its terminal on the right side of the board.

Disconnect Front Camera
2 minUnplug the front-facing camera press connector and lift the camera out of its recess using tweezers.

Disconnect Rear Camera Assembly
2 minPry up the rear camera flex connectors and lift the dual-camera module away from the logic board.

Remove Motherboard Retaining Screws
2 minRemove any remaining Phillips screws anchoring the logic board to the internal magnesium chassis.

Extract Logic Board
3 minGently pry beneath the top edge of the logic board with a spudger and lift it out of the phone body.

Insert Replacement Board
3 minLower the new logic board into the frame at an angle, aligning it over the screw posts without trapping cables underneath.

Reconnect All Internal Cables
4 minSnap the camera flex cables, antenna cable, display flex, and battery connector firmly back onto their logic board sockets.
