Turn Off Phone and Remove SIM Tray
2 minPower down the Moto G7 Power completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the left edge to pop out the SIM tray.

Heat Back Cover Perimeter
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes. Keep the heat source moving to avoid warping the plastic panel.

2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower back panel and pull upward gently. Insert a thin plastic prying pick into the seam that opens.

Remove Fingerprint Bracket Screw

3 minUnscrew the nine Phillips #00 screws holding down the black plastic upper midframe cover.

2 minInsert a spudger under the edges of the plastic midframe shield and pop it out of the chassis clips.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Unscrew Lower Speaker Assembly
2 minRemove the six Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker module.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
1 minWedge the flat tip of a spudger under the speaker housing and lift it out of the phone frame.

Disconnect Display Flex Cable
1 minUse the edge of a spudger to pop open the display flex ribbon connector located near the bottom of the motherboard.

Warm Battery Adhesive
2 minApply mild heat from a hair dryer to the back of the internal frame behind the battery for 60 seconds.

Pry Out Battery
4 minInsert a flat plastic prying tool under the battery edges and slowly lever the battery up out of its recess. Avoid bending or puncturing the battery cell.

Heat Display Front Glass
3 minApply heat evenly across the front display edges for two to three minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

Separate Screen Frame Edge

4 minRun the pick along the top, sides, and bottom perimeter to slice through all remaining screen adhesive.

Thread Flex Cable and Remove Old Screen
2 minLift the damaged display assembly away from the frame while carefully guiding its ribbon cable out through the frame slot.

Clean Frame Channel
4 minScrape away remaining adhesive bits from the housing perimeter using a spudger. Clean the rim thoroughly with high-percentage isopropyl alcohol.

Apply Screen Adhesive Strips
3 minLay down narrow double-sided adhesive tape around the inner rim of the phone frame. Peel away the protective film backings.

Mount New Screen Assembly
3 minThread the ribbon cable of the new screen through the frame cutout. Align the glass perfectly with the chassis and press firm around edges.

Reinstall Battery and Connectors
