Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the phone. Push inward firmly to pop out the tray, then remove it.

Heat rear adhesive
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the glass back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply suction cup
2 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the rear glass cover. Gently pull upward to create a small gap along the seam.

Slice perimeter adhesive
5 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and carefully slide it around all edges of the rear cover to cut through the adhesive.

Disconnect fingerprint cable
2 minSlightly hinge the back cover open and use a spudger to detach the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the logic board.

Remove back glass cover
1 minLift the rear glass panel clear off the phone chassis and set it aside in a safe spot.

Unscrew motherboard cover
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic protective cover over the logic board.

Pry off motherboard cover
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the plastic cover and lift it off the frame.

Disconnect battery cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Disconnect display cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to snap the main display flex cable up and away from its motherboard connector.

Unplug camera connectors
3 minDisconnect the rear dual-camera and front selfie camera press-connectors from the logic board with your spudger.

Detach antenna cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to pry up the coaxial antenna connectors from their headers on the right edge of the board.

Disconnect lower interconnect cable
2 minUnplug the flex cable that connects the upper logic board to the lower charging port sub-board.

Unscrew logic board
2 minRemove any remaining Phillips #00 screws holding the motherboard direct to the internal metal frame.

Remove logic board
2 minGently lift the logic board up from the top edge and pull it out of the phone chassis.
