   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off to shut down the phone completely.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the top edge of the phone to pop out the SIM tray.

   Heat the rear glass

   Apply a heated pad or heat gun around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull gently to create a slight gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide an opening pick into the gap created between the glass back cover and the plastic frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick slowly around all edges of the rear panel to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Tilt the back cover

   Gently lift the right edge of the rear glass like a book, avoiding strain on the connected fingerprint flex cable.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pop the fingerprint sensor flex connector off the motherboard.

   Remove the rear glass

   Lift the rear glass cover completely off the body of the phone and place it on a soft surface.

    Unscrew the midframe cover

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the protective plastic frame over the motherboard.

    Detach the midframe cover

    Pry up the edges of the plastic upper bracket and lift it away from the phone chassis.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Drop a small amount of isopropyl alcohol along the side edges of the battery to weaken the glue underneath.

    Lever out the battery

    Insert a plastic opening card under the battery and gradually lift it until it frees from the phone frame.

    Clean the battery recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive bits from the inner compartment using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Install new adhesive

    Apply fresh double-sided battery adhesive strips into the empty battery bay.

    Position the new battery

    Place the new battery into the housing and press firmly to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery flex connector over the motherboard port and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Reinstall the midframe cover

    Fit the plastic protective bracket back over the motherboard and secure it with the Phillips #00 screws.

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor

    Attach the fingerprint reader flex cable connector back into its dedicated port on the motherboard.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Lay down fresh pre-cut adhesive tape along the rim of the phone chassis.

    Seal the back cover

    Align the rear glass with the phone frame and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive seal.
