Turn off the phone
1 minPower down your Motorola Moto G7 Play completely to prevent electrical damage during repair.

Remove the SIM tray

Heat the rear cover

Open the rear cover

Unscrew motherboard bracket
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper motherboard shield and bracket.

Remove top motherboard cover
1 minGently lift the top motherboard plastic cover away from the device using tweezers or a spudger.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
1 minPry the fingerprint reader ribbon cable connector off the motherboard to fully detach the back cover.

Unscrew loudspeaker housing
2 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom speaker module to the lower frame.

Remove bottom speaker module
2 minInsert a flat spudger under the notch of the lower speaker assembly and pry it out from the phone frame.

Insert replacement speaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker housing into the bottom cavity of the phone and press down firmly to set it.

Secure speaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips #00 screws to lock the speaker module in place.

Reconnect fingerprint and battery flex cables
2 minPress the fingerprint sensor and battery cable connectors firmly back into their motherboard sockets.

Reinstall top motherboard cover
3 minPlace the upper motherboard shield into position and reattach all retained screws.

Reseal rear cover
3 minApply fresh precut adhesive to the perimeter of the frame, then press the back cover down tightly along all edges.
