Step-by-step

Power Off and Eject SIM Tray
2 minPress and hold the power button to completely turn off the device. Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the left edge to remove the SIM tray.

Heat the Rear Cover
3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the rear panel for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive beneath.

Attach Suction Cup and Insert Pick
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower rear panel and pull upward to create a slight gap. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap.

Slice Rear Panel Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick carefully around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the remaining adhesive.

Remove the Rear Cover
2 minGently lift the rear cover off the frame and set it aside. Ensure no residual adhesive strips obstruct the inner assembly.

Remove Lower Speaker Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the lower speaker and sub-board housing.

Pry Out Speaker Assembly
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the lower speaker housing and carefully lift it out of the phone body.

1 minUse a spudger to pry straight up on the main flex interconnect cable connector attached to the sub-board.

Unplug Coaxial Antenna Cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to pry up and disconnect the white antenna cable head from the lower sub-board.

Remove Old Microphone Sub-Board
2 minGently pry beneath the lower sub-board containing the primary microphone using a spudger and lift it free from the chassis.

Install New Microphone Sub-Board
2 minAlign the replacement microphone sub-board over its recess in the lower frame and press down firmly to set it in place.

Reconnect Antenna and Flex Cables
3 minSnap the coaxial antenna cable head onto its terminal, then press down on the main flex connector until it clicks into place.

Reinstall Speaker Assembly
2 minPosition the lower speaker housing back over the daughterboard assembly and press it down flush with the frame.

3 minReplace and tighten the five Phillips #000 screws to hold the speaker cover and sub-board in place.

Apply Adhesive and Reattach Cover
4 minApply pre-cut replacement adhesive tape along the perimeter of the phone chassis. Align the rear cover and press firmly along all edges to seal.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray back into its slot on the side of the device until flush.
