   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to eject the SIM tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the back cover edges

   Apply heat to the edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes using a heat gun set to low. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel.

   Apply a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Press down firmly to create a seal.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up on the suction cup while pressing down on the frame to create a small gap near the bottom edge. Insert a opening pick into the gap.

   Slice bottom adhesive

   2 min

   Slide the opening pick carefully along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive. Leave a pick inserted to prevent re-sealing.

   Slice left side adhesive

   2 min

   Insert a second opening pick and slide it along the left edge of the back panel. Move slowly to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice right side adhesive

   2 min

   Slide an opening pick along the right edge of the rear panel. Keep the pick flat to avoid touching internal components.

   Slice top adhesive

   Carefully slide the pick across the top edge of the back cover. Take extra care around the camera housing area.

    Lift the rear cover

    Gently hinge the back cover open from the right side like a book. Do not pull it away completely as a ribbon cable is attached.

    Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

    Use a plastic spudger to pop off the fingerprint sensor flex connector from the motherboard. Set the back cover aside.

    Unscrew the upper motherboard shield

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the upper protective motherboard shield in place. Keep track of each screw position.

    Remove motherboard shield

    Pry up the edges of the motherboard cover gently using a spudger. Lift and remove the shield from the phone frame.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery flex cable connector straight up from its socket using a plastic spudger. This disconnects power to prevent short circuits.

    Unscrew the lower speaker housing

    Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the speaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

    Remove lower speaker cover

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the speaker housing and pop it free. Remove it to clear access to the lower adhesive pull tabs.

    Locate adhesive pull tabs

    Find the pull tabs for the battery adhesive located near the bottom edge of the battery.

    Peel adhesive tabs

    Use tweezers to gently unstick the black adhesive pull-tabs from the top face of the battery.

    Pull the first adhesive strip

    Grasp the first pull-tab and pull it out slowly at a flat, low angle. Continue pulling with steady pressure until the strip comes out completely.

    Pull the second adhesive strip

    Grasp the second pull-tab and pull it at a low angle. Keep pulling slowly to stretch and release the adhesive without snapping it.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol if needed

    If a strip breaks, apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol under the edge of the battery. Wait 2 minutes for the adhesive to soften.

    Pry out the battery

    Insert a flat plastic opening card or spudger under the battery to lift it out. Never use metal tools or bend the battery.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Wipe away any remaining glue or residue inside the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply new adhesive to replacement battery

    Peel the protective film from new adhesive strips and stick them to the back of the replacement battery.

    Install the new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the recess and press it down firmly to set the adhesive strips.
