   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the rear cover edges

   Apply a heated pad or hair dryer to the back panel for two minutes to soften the rear adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup to the rear cover

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and press down to firmly attach it.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge, then slip an opening pick into the seam.

   Slice through the adhesive perimeter

   Slide the opening pick along the bottom, left, and right edges to cut through the factory adhesive.

   Unclip and remove the rear cover

   Gently lift the back cover off the chassis, releasing any plastic retaining clips along the top edge.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard frame.

   Pry up the motherboard cover

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the motherboard bracket and pop it out of place.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Pry up the main display interconnect cable running over the top of the battery to clear access.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around the battery

    Drip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery to weaken the adhesive.

    Lift the battery pull tab

    Peel back the clear adhesive pull tab labeled for battery removal.

    Pry the battery from the chassis

    Pull the removal tab upward steadily or use a wide plastic card under the side edge to lever the battery free.

    Clean old adhesive from the frame

    Scrape away lingering adhesive residue inside the battery well using a plastic spudger and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new battery adhesive strips

    Lay fresh double-sided adhesive strips into the empty battery compartment and peel off the protective backing.

    Press the new battery into place

    Align the replacement battery in the well and press down firmly to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

    Reconnect the flex cables

    Snap the display interconnect flex cable and battery flex cable back onto their motherboard sockets.

    Reinstall the motherboard cover

    Position the plastic cover back over the motherboard and tighten all Phillips screws until snug.

    Apply new rear cover adhesive

    Place precut back panel adhesive strips along the perimeter frame of the phone chassis.

    Reattach the rear cover

    Align the back cover over the frame and press firmly around all edges to seal the device.
