Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM card tray on top of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

Heat the Rear Glass Cover
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on medium setting to warm the outer edges of the rear glass for 2-3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup and Create Gap
2 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass back cover and pull upward gently. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created.

Slice Adhesive Around Rear Glass
4 minSlide the opening pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick encounters heavy resistance.

Lift Off the Rear Glass
1 minGently lift the rear glass off the phone chassis once all adhesive is cut. Set the back panel aside in a safe spot.

Unscrew Midframe Phillips Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the internal plastic midframe cover.

Remove the Plastic Midframe
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the edge of the midframe cover and gently pry up to release the plastic clips holding it down.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minLocate the battery connector press fit on the logic board. Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight up.

Disconnect Front and Rear Cameras
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to pry up the press connectors for both the front-facing and rear camera modules. Lift the cameras out of their sockets.

Disconnect Display and Flex Cables
2 minPry up the display flex cable connector and the lower daughterboard ribbon cable from the logic board using a spudger.

Disconnect the Antenna Cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully pop the coaxial antenna cable connectors off the bottom right corner of the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Retaining Screws
2 minRemove any remaining Phillips screws anchoring the main logic board to the metal phone housing.

Pry Up the Logic Board
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the upper edge of the logic board and gently lever it out of the phone chassis.

Set New Logic Board in Place
2 minLower the replacement logic board into the chassis top-first, ensuring all underlying flex cables remain clear.

Reconnect All Flex Cables and Battery
3 minAlign and press down on all camera, display, antenna, and battery connectors until they snap securely into place.
