Step-by-step

Power Off the Device

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole at the top edge of the device. Push inward firmly to eject the tray, then remove it.

3 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover with a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Attach a Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass cover and press down to create a tight seal.

Create a Separation Gap
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup while pressing down on the frame to create a slight gap between the glass and body.

Slice the Perimeter Adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it slowly along the perimeter to cut through the adhesive seal.

Remove the Back Cover
2 minGently lift the back glass panel off the chassis once all edges are completely separated. Set the back panel aside.

Unscrew the Loudspeaker Assembly
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic lower loudspeaker housing.

Pry Up the Loudspeaker Module
2 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the lower chassis.

Disconnect the Main Flex Cable
1 minUse a plastic opening tool to pop off the main interconnect flex connector from the microphone daughterboard.

Disconnect the Antenna Cable
2 minGently pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the corner of the daughterboard using fine tweezers.

Remove the Microphone Sub-Board
2 minInsert a spudger under the lower sub-board containing the primary microphone and pry it out from the frame.

Position the New Daughterboard
2 minAlign the replacement sub-board into the lower compartment of the frame and press gently until it sits flush.

Reconnect the Antenna Cable
2 minPosition the coaxial antenna cable head over its motherboard socket and press down lightly until it snaps into place.

Reconnect the Main Flex Cable
1 minAlign the main interconnect flex cable connector over its socket on the new sub-board and press down firmly to secure it.

Reinstall the Loudspeaker Module
2 minLower the loudspeaker housing back onto the bottom of the phone and press down until it clips into place.

Secure Loudspeaker Screws
3 minReinsert and tighten all the Phillips #00 screws to hold the loudspeaker assembly firmly in place.

Clean and Seal the Frame
4 minClean remaining adhesive off the frame using isopropyl alcohol, apply a new pre-cut adhesive strip, and press the back glass firmly down.
