   Power off device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before starting.

   Remove SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then slide it out completely.

   Heat rear glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or hair dryer to the back glass edges for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the rear panel.

   Attach suction handle

   Press a suction cup onto the lower end of the rear glass cover. Pull up gently to create a slight gap along the bottom seam.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Take care not to insert it too deep to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick carefully along the bottom edge and up both sides of the rear glass. Keep the pick shallow to cut through the glue safely.

   Separate rear panel

   Slice the adhesive across the top edge of the back glass. Carefully lift the glass off the frame and lay it aside.

   Unscrew upper shield

   Use a Phillips #00 driver to remove the screws securing the upper motherboard shield. Keep the screws organized by location.

   Remove motherboard shield

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pry up and remove the plastic upper motherboard cover.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. This prevents electrical shorts during repair.

    Unscrew speaker housing

    Remove the Phillips screws holding the lower loudspeaker housing over the charging port sub-board.

    Remove speaker housing

    Insert your spudger beneath the lower speaker assembly and pry it out of the chassis. Set it aside safely.

    Disconnect interconnect flex

    Pry up the main interconnect ribbon cable connector from the bottom charging port sub-board.

    Unclip antenna cable

    Use tweezers to carefully lift the coaxial antenna cable head up off its socket on the charging port board.

    Remove damaged sub-board

    Gently pry the old USB-C charging port sub-board up out of the bottom chassis cavity.

    Position new sub-board

    Align the replacement USB-C sub-board and press it firmly into position at the bottom of the phone frame.

    Reconnect antenna cable

    Use tweezers to align the coaxial antenna connector over its header on the new board and snap it down gently.

    Reconnect interconnect flex

    Align and press the main interconnect ribbon cable down onto the sub-board connector until it clicks into place.

    Reconnect battery

    Press the battery press-connector firmly back into its socket on the main motherboard.

    Reinstall speaker housing

    Place the loudspeaker module back into the lower frame over the charging sub-board.

    Secure frame screws

    Reinstall and tighten all Phillips screws into both the upper motherboard shield and the lower speaker assembly.

    Apply replacement adhesive

    Clean remaining old glue from the perimeter with isopropyl alcohol, then stick down pre-cut adhesive strips along the frame edges.

    Reattach back glass

    Align the rear glass cover over the phone frame and press down firmly around all edges to seal it.

    Reinsert SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the top edge of the phone until flush with the body.
