   Power Down Device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

   Heat Rear Glass Panel

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer edges of the rear glass for 2 minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the back cover and pull upward gently to create a thin gap.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the rear glass and the frame.

   Slice Back Cover Adhesive

   Slide the pick slowly around all four edges of the phone to cut through the peripheral adhesive seal.

   Tilt Back Cover Open

   Gently swing the glass back cover open to the left like a book cover, taking care not to strain the fingerprint flex cable.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor

   Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex connector straight up off the motherboard.

   Remove Rear Glass Cover

   Lift the rear cover free from the body and place it on a clean workspace.

   Unscrew Midframe Shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the fifteen screws securing the upper midframe shield and motherboard cover.

    Remove Midframe Shield

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the plastic midframe shield and carefully lift it off the frame.

    Disconnect Battery Press Connector

    Pry the battery connector directly up out of its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to eliminate power.

    Unseal Battery Pull Tabs

    Locate the two black adhesive pull-tab ends sticking out at the bottom edge of the battery.

    Remove Battery Adhesive Strips

    Gasp one tab with tweezers and slowly pull the stretch-release adhesive strip outward in a flat, parallel motion until released.

    Pry Out Old Battery

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the edges if needed, then leverage the battery up using a plastic card.

    Clean Battery Housing

    Wipe away any leftover adhesive residue inside the battery compartment with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply Replacement Battery Adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new double-sided adhesive strips and press them firmly onto the underside of the replacement battery.

    Install Replacement Battery

    Align the new battery into the cavity and press down firmly, then temporarily plug in the connector to confirm correct positioning.

    Reinstall Midframe Shield

    Lower the midframe cover into place over the motherboard and snap its retaining clips into the outer housing.

    Secure Midframe Screws

    Tighten the fifteen Phillips #00 screws back into the midframe shield until snug.

    Reconnect Fingerprint Sensor

    Align the fingerprint sensor flex press connector over its motherboard terminal and press down firmly until it clicks.

    Apply Rear Glass Adhesive

    Apply a pre-cut adhesive sticker or line of rear panel repair adhesive around the outer ledge of the chassis frame.

    Reseal Rear Glass Panel

    Align the rear glass with the outer edges of the body and press firmly along all perimeter seams to secure the seal.
