Power down the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Turn Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

Heat the rear panel
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the plastic rear cover to the frame.

Apply suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Press firmly to engage the suction and pull up gently to create a small gap.

Slice rear adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide the pick around all four edges to slice through the adhesive tape.

2 minGently lift the back cover slightly to reveal the fingerprint flex cable. Use a spudger or tweezers to detach the press connector from the motherboard.

Remove rear panel
