   Heat rear cover

   Apply heat to the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer on low for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear cover and pull upward to create a slight gap.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear cover and the frame.

   Slice rear adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

   Pry open back cover

   Gently lift the back cover off, taking care not to pull on the fingerprint reader ribbon cable.

   Disconnect fingerprint sensor

   Use a plastic spudger to pry up and disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the board.

   Unscrew upper motherboard bracket

   Remove the ten Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard frame bracket.

   Remove motherboard bracket

   Lift the top plastic bracket away from the device chassis and set it aside.

   Pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

    Remove the six Phillips #00 screws securing the lower loudspeaker speaker assembly.

    Pry up and lift out the lower speaker housing from the bottom of the phone.

    Pry the battery out of its well using a wide flat plastic card, taking care not to bend it.

    Heat front screen

    Apply heat across the front glass panel with a heat gun for two minutes to loosen the adhesive.

    Insert pick into display seam

    Insert an opening pick between the front glass bezel and the metal phone frame.

    Slice screen adhesive

    Move the pick around the entire perimeter of the screen to release the display adhesive.

    Remove damaged screen

    Lift the screen away while threading the flex cable out through the frame slot.

    Clean frame perimeter

    Scrape off all old adhesive residues and glass particles from the frame using tweezers and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply frame adhesive

    Lay fresh double-sided adhesive strips along the top, bottom, and side edges of the frame.

    Install replacement screen

    Feed the new screen flex cable through the slot and press the display firmly into the frame.

    Attach the fingerprint reader flex cable to its motherboard socket.

    Secure rear cover

    Apply rear cover adhesive, align the back glass cover, and press firmly along all edges.
