   Turn off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Heat the display perimeter

   Apply heat to the front edges of the screen using a heat gun on low setting for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the display to the frame.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the screen near the home button. Pull gently upward to create a small gap between the glass and frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert a thin opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge. Slice carefully through the display adhesive.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around the remaining three sides of the screen. Take care near the top so you do not damage the camera or earpiece sensors.

   Open the display assembly

   Gently lift the display up from the right edge, hinging it like a book. Do not pull it completely away yet, as delicate ribbon cables are still attached.

   Remove the display bracket screw

    Align the new micro-USB port

    Position the new micro-USB port onto the daughterboard pads, ensuring all five contact pins align perfectly with the pads.

    Solder the new charging port

    Touch the soldering iron tip with fresh solder to lock down the anchor posts first, then carefully solder each of the five rear contacts.

    Reinstall the daughterboard

    Place the repaired daughterboard back into the bottom of the phone chassis and press it flat.

    Secure the daughterboard screw

    Reinsert and tighten the single Phillips #000 screw to hold the daughterboard firmly in place.

    Reconnect sub-board and antenna cables

    Snap the sub-board flex cable connector onto its port and press the coaxial antenna head firmly back onto its terminal.

    Snap the plastic midframe back into the phone body and replace the fifteen Phillips #000 screws.
