   Power off the smartphone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and set it aside.

   Heat the front display perimeter

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to warm the edges of the front glass for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the display.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the screen glass. Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a small seam.

   Slice perimeter display adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created near the bottom edge. Slide the pick around all four sides to sever the adhesive.

   Open the display assembly

   Gently swing the screen open from the right side like a book cover. Do not pull the display off completely, as flex cables are still connected at the top.

   Remove display connector bracket screw

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal display cable shield. Lift off the metal shield with tweezers.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pop the display press connector straight off the motherboard. Set the screen assembly in a safe location.

   Remove midframe screws

   Unscrew the 12 Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic internal midframe to the rear aluminum body.

    Pry out plastic midframe

    Insert a plastic pry tool under the rim of the midframe and lift it away from the metal housing. Set the midframe aside.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Locate the battery flex connector on the mainboard. Pry it straight up with a spudger to cut power to the device.

    Disconnect main daughterboard ribbon

    Use the spudger to detach the main interconnect ribbon cable from the bottom daughterboard assembly.

    Unplug the antenna coaxial cable

    Use precision tweezers to gently unclip the thin coaxial antenna cable head from the bottom daughterboard.

    Pry out old microphone daughterboard

    Insert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the daughterboard at the bottom of the case. Pry gently to break light adhesive underneath and remove the board.

    Position new microphone daughterboard

    Align the replacement daughterboard into the bottom slot, ensuring the microphone rubber gasket aligns with the frame hole.

    Reconnect lower board cables

    Snap the main interconnect ribbon press connector and the coaxial antenna cable head back onto the new daughterboard.

    Reconnect battery press connector

    Align and press the battery flex cable back into its socket on the motherboard until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall plastic midframe

    Press the plastic midframe into position until it clips in, then reinsert and tighten all 12 Phillips #000 screws.

    Reconnect display and bracket

    Snap the display flex connector back onto the mainboard, replace the metal shield, and tighten the securing screw.

    Apply adhesive and seal screen

    Apply pre-cut display adhesive strips around the frame perimeter, align the glass screen, press firmly along the edges, and reinsert the SIM tray.
