Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge and push firmly to eject it.

Heat screen edges
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the front edges of the display for two minutes to soften the screen adhesive.

Slice screen adhesive
5 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull gently, and insert an opening pick beneath the glass to slice through the adhesive along the perimeter.

Swing open display
2 minGently lift the display assembly from the top edge, swinging it open like a book toward the bottom. Do not pull it completely away yet.

Unscrew display bracket
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal display cable bracket near the top of the board.

Disconnect display cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pop the display flex cable straight up off its connector on the logic board, then set the screen assembly aside.

Remove midframe screws
5 minRemove all 15 Phillips #00 screws holding the internal metal midframe shield to the body of the phone.

Remove midframe shield
3 minInsert a plastic opening tool beneath the edge of the metal midframe shield and gently pry it up to lift it off the chassis.

Disconnect battery press connector
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using the flat end of a spudger to remove power from the board.

Disconnect camera cables
3 minUse tweezers or a spudger to unclip the press connectors for both the front-facing and dual rear-facing cameras.

Remove camera modules
2 minGently pry up and remove the rear camera module and front camera module from their sockets on the motherboard.

Disconnect ribbon cables
2 minUnplug the lower interconnect ribbon cable and the side button flex cable from their respective sockets on the logic board.

Remove logic board screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the logic board down near the top center frame.

Extract logic board
3 minCarefully tilt the top edge of the logic board upward and remove it from the phone's aluminum housing.
