   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it completely.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel to the frame.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap between the panel and the frame.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide the pick along all four edges to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Remove the back cover

   Gently lift the rear back cover off the chassis once all adhesive is sliced. Set the panel aside in a clean location.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket. Keep track of each screw for reassembly.

   Remove the upper motherboard cover

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the motherboard shield and gently pry it up. Lift the plastic cover away from the device.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket. This prevents short circuits during repair.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker module

    Remove the Phillips screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing at the bottom of the phone. Place the screws in a secure tray.

    Remove the loudspeaker module

    Pry up the loudspeaker module using a spudger to detach it from the sub-board area. Lift the module out of the chassis.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Pry up the flex cable press connector attached to the sub-board using a plastic spudger. Fold the ribbon cable back slightly out of the way.

    Unclip the coaxial antenna cable

    Use fine tweezers to carefully pry the antenna cable head straight up off its metal socket on the lower sub-board. Do not pull on the wire itself.

    Pry up the charging port sub-board

    Slide a flat spudger under the charging port sub-board and gently lever it up from the chassis adhesive. Lift the old sub-board out of the frame.

    Position the new charging port sub-board

    Align the replacement charging port assembly with the lower recess in the frame. Press down gently until it seats flatly into place.

    Snap the coaxial antenna cable into place

    Align the metallic antenna connector over its socket on the sub-board. Press down firmly with a spudger until it snaps into position.

    Attach the main interconnect cable

    Align the flex cable connector over its mating socket on the sub-board. Gently press down on one side, then the other, until it clicks securely.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker module

    Place the loudspeaker module over the bottom sub-board, aligning its screw holes with the frame posts.

    Secure the loudspeaker screws

    Insert and tighten the Phillips screws into the loudspeaker module until snug. Avoid over-tightening to prevent damaging the plastic.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery press connector with its motherboard socket and press down firmly to re-establish power contact.

    Secure the upper motherboard cover

    Place the top plastic motherboard shield back onto the chassis and tighten its retaining Phillips screws.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Clean remaining old glue with isopropyl alcohol, then align and apply pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips onto the outer perimeter of the frame.

    Seal the rear back cover

    Align the back panel over the rear chassis and press down firmly around all edges to set the new adhesive.

    Reinsert the SIM card tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the side of the phone frame.
