   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the plastic back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the softened back panel. Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the back panel and the frame. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide additional plastic picks along the perimeter of the back panel. Carefully cut through all remaining adhesive along the left, right, and top edges.

   Disconnect the fingerprint cable

   Slightly lift the back cover from the right side to expose the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable. Use a spudger to gently pop the connector off its socket.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the rear cover completely away from the phone body. Set the cover aside in a safe, dust-free area.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker module

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the phone. Store the screws together so they do not get lost.

    Pry up the loudspeaker housing

    Insert the flat end of a spudger under the top lip of the loudspeaker housing assembly. Gently pry upward to unclip the housing from the frame.

    Remove the original loudspeaker

    Lift the loudspeaker assembly out of the bottom cavity. Inspect the spring contacts on the motherboard for any dust or debris.

    Install the new loudspeaker

    Align the replacement loudspeaker module with the bottom cavity of the device frame. Press down lightly until it sits flat against the motherboard contacts.

    Secure the loudspeaker screws

    Reinstall the Phillips screws removed earlier to hold the loudspeaker module in place. Tighten them evenly until snug without overtightening.

    Reconnect the fingerprint cable

    Position the back cover near the right edge of the device frame. Align and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector into its motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Apply fresh adhesive

    Clean off remaining old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol. Apply new pre-cut adhesive strips around the rim of the phone chassis.

    Reattach the rear panel

    Align the back cover with the phone body and lower it into place. Press firmly around all edges for 30 seconds to set the adhesive seal.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush. Power on the device to test the new speaker.
