Step-by-step

Turn Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen before beginning.

Remove SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the SIM tray on the left side and press to eject it.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the outer edges of the rear panel for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup onto the bottom section of the back cover and pull upward firmly to create a small gap.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slowly slide it around all four edges to sever the adhesive tape.

Remove Back Cover
1 minGently lift the plastic rear cover off the frame and set it aside.

Unscrew Top Midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the upper motherboard shield.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minPry up the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from the logic board using a spudger.

Remove Top Shield
1 minLift the plastic upper shield cover away from the chassis to expose the motherboard.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse a spudger to pop the battery connector straight up off the logic board to kill power to the circuit.

Disconnect Interconnect Cables
2 minDisconnect the main display flex cable and the lower sub-board interconnect cable from the logic board.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minUse fine tweezers to carefully unclip the coaxial antenna cable from its press connector on the motherboard.

Remove Cameras
3 minDisconnect the rear camera and front camera flex cables from the logic board and lift both camera modules out.

Unscrew Motherboard
1 minRemove the single Phillips screw holding the logic board down to the phone housing.

Lift Out Logic Board
2 minGently pry under the edge of the logic board with a spudger and remove it from the frame.
