Power Down Phone

4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive seal.

1 minLift the rear panel away from the frame and set it aside.

Unscrew Motherboard Cover
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws holding the upper plastic motherboard shield in place.

Pry Up Motherboard Shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the plastic shield and gently snap it off the chassis.

1 minUse a plastic spudger to lever the battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard.

1 minPry up the main display interconnect cable that crosses over the top of the battery.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minApply a few drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol along the battery edges to dissolve the strong glue underneath.

Pry Out Battery
4 minInsert a plastic spudger under the battery and carefully lift it out without puncturing the pouch.

Clean Battery Recess
2 minWipe away old adhesive residue from the midframe housing using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Apply New Adhesive Strips
2 minPlace new double-sided battery adhesive tape into the recessed battery compartment.

Install New Battery
2 minSet the new battery into the compartment and press down firmly to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

Reconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minAlign and press the interconnect flex connector back onto the motherboard socket until it clicks.

1 minSnap the new battery flex connector directly onto its motherboard terminal.

2 minAlign the back cover over the rear frame and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the side frame.
