   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole beside the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it out completely.

   Heat the rear glass panel

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer perimeter of the back panel for approximately two minutes. This softens the internal adhesive holding the rear cover.

   Apply a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear panel. Pull upward gently on the ring to create a small gap between the back panel and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Work carefully to avoid scratching the internal components or breaking the glass.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the glue. Reapply heat with the heat gun if the pick encounters heavy resistance.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear cover carefully away from the chassis. Set the back panel aside in a safe spot.

   Unscrew the midframe bezel

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe shield to the internal housing.

   Unclip the midframe shield

   Insert a spudger along the outer plastic clips of the frame bezel. Gently pry up around the perimeter to release the plastic cover from the frame.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Locate the battery flex connector on the motherboard. Pry it straight up with a plastic spudger to cut power to the phone board.

    Disconnect the power button flex cable

    Locate the power button ZIF/press connector on the side of the motherboard. Carefully disconnect it using the flat edge of your spudger.

    Pry out the power button flex

    Use fine-tipped tweezers to carefully peel the power/fingerprint button flex cable away from the internal side frame notch.

    Position the new power button flex

    Align the replacement power button flex cable with the notch inside the phone frame. Press it gently into place using your spudger.

    Connect the new flex cable

    Align the flex cable plug over its motherboard terminal and press down firmly until you feel it click into place.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Press the battery connector straight down onto its motherboard socket until it snaps shut.

    Reinstall the midframe housing

    Set the midframe cover back on top of the phone body and press down around the edges to lock the clips. Reinsert and tighten all Phillips screws.

    Apply fresh rear adhesive

    Clean off old glue residue with isopropyl alcohol, then apply new pre-cut adhesive strips around the perimeter of the frame.

    Reattach the back cover and SIM tray

    Align the rear cover with the chassis and press firmly along all edges to seal it. Reinsert the SIM tray into the side slot.
