   Power Off the Phone

   Press and hold the Power button until the options appear on screen. Tap Power Off and wait until the screen goes completely dark.

   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left side of the device. Push firmly inward to eject the tray, then remove it.

   Heat the Back Cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the back cover to the frame.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the rear panel near the bottom edge. Ensure a strong seal against the plastic back cover.

   Create an Opening Gap

   Pull upward on the suction cup ring while pressing against the frame to create a tiny gap. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice the Perimeter Adhesive

   Slide the plastic opening pick around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick becomes stuck.

   Lift Off the Back Cover

   Gently lift the back cover completely off the phone frame. Place the back panel aside on your work mat.

   Unscrew the Upper Shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper motherboard cover bracket. Keep track of all removed screws by position.

   Remove the Upper Plastic Cover

   Pry up the edges of the upper motherboard cover using a flat spudger. Lift the bracket clear of the chassis to expose the motherboard connectors.

    Disconnect the Battery Cable

    Lever the flat end of a spudger directly under the battery press connector. Pop the connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Apply Isopropyl Alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery. Wait 2 minutes for the adhesive underneath to dissolve.

    Pry Up the Old Battery

    Insert a flat plastic card or wide spudger beneath the battery side edge. Lever the battery upward gradually until it lifts free from the chassis.

    Clean the Battery Bay

    Peel away old glue residue from the metal frame using tweezers. Wipe the battery recess clean with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply New Adhesive Strips

    Lay fresh battery adhesive strips into the empty bay and press them flat. Remove the top protective film to expose the adhesive.

    Install the Replacement Battery

    Lower the new battery into place and press down firmly to secure it. Press the battery connector straight into its motherboard socket until it snaps shut.
