   Turn off phone and remove SIM card tray

   Power off your Motorola Moto G51 5G completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the left edge and push to eject the tray.

   Heat rear panel edges

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the perimeter of the back cover for 2 minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the panel.

   Attach suction cup to rear panel

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel just above the bottom edge.

   Slice rear panel adhesive

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick under the plastic back cover. Slide the pick around all four edges to slice the adhesive.

   Remove rear panel

   Lift the rear cover straight up off the phone frame and set it aside.

   Unbolt upper motherboard shield screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic upper motherboard cover.

   Remove upper motherboard shield

   Use tweezers or a spudger to lift the motherboard cover off the chassis.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

   Unbolt lower speaker screws

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker module.

    Lift out lower speaker module

    Insert a spudger underneath the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the phone.

    Disconnect main interconnect flex cable

    Use a spudger to unclip both ends of the long main ribbon cable crossing over the battery.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol to battery frame

    Apply a few drops of 90%+ isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery to weaken the glue underneath.

    Pull battery adhesive tab

    Locate the pull tab on the battery adhesive strip and pull it out slowly at a low angle without snapping it.

    Pry out old battery

    Gently insert a plastic card or flat spudger underneath the battery to lift it free from the frame.

    Clean residual adhesive from battery housing

    Wipe away remaining adhesive strips and clean the battery tray using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Lay down fresh battery adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new adhesive strips and press them firmly onto the battery well.

    Insert new battery into housing

    Align the replacement battery into the frame and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect interconnect cable and speaker module

    Snap the main flex cable back onto its connectors and screw the lower loudspeaker module back into place.

    Attach battery cable and upper shield

    Press the battery cable connector onto the motherboard, replace the upper shield, and tighten its screws.

    Reinstall SIM tray and seal rear cover

    Apply fresh rear cover adhesive tape along the frame, press the back panel back onto the phone, and reinsert the SIM tray.
